A mind is a terrible thing to waste. In fact, it ranks right above wasting time, patience, daylight and space. The mind is not just a terrible thing to waste because it is more important than these other things but because it is the easiest thing of all not to waste.

It takes in fact, little effort at all to have an active brain, when it contemplates or muses about the world around it. Simple acts of thought are all it takes like “How did I get stuck in the skull of this human?” the brain might wonder.

And while getting stuck in the skull of human much like the following hour of programming, does not necessarily represent the views of University of California, Davis, KDVS or its sponsors, the thinking mind, while not a virtue and only considered to be an idle vice should be viewed as the most previous of renewable resources upon which any nation can beat its energy needs and fuel itself.

Ten years ago, a crack commando unit was sent to the basement of a community radio station for a crime they didn’t commit. These people promptly formed the Science News Radio Show for the Davis underground.

And while the views and opinions in the following hour of programming do not necessarily represent the views or opinions of the University of California, Davis, KDVS or its sponsors, today still wanted by the government the survivor soldiers of science, do you have a question?

Enterprise Risk Management Platform

There will be a Risk Management platform on August 26 to 27, 2008 a the Grand Millenium Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 

This practical platform combines real life case studies, scenario exercises and breakout sessions that provides the participant with an ERM framework to review and report on its applications to their organization.  

Participants will evaluate options and select a preferred risk identification and prioritizing process.  With the presentation of several risk scenarios, conference participants will discuss the risk mitigation strategies in relation to their organization including the process for handling risks below the materiality level.

The conference speaker is Mr Sid , the principal of Objective Risk Advisory Services with over 20 years of experience in risk managment and is the former GM of risk for Amcor Ltd.

CCAS Events worth attending

Futuregen is registering for 2 CCAS (Call center Association of Singapore) events. These are:

  • Workforce Management by Julie-ann Hazlett, Education Manager of Call Design on Thrusday  July 31, 2008 and
  • Site visit to CPF Contact Center on August 1, 2008

 The Workforce Management will tackle the following topics:

  • Introduction to Call Design
  • Define workforce management.
  • List the implications of overstaffing/understaffing.
  • Describe why call-centre staffing is a unique kind of problem.
  • Outline the perspectives and goals of each stakeholder group and how workforce management impacts each.
